How Do I Achieve Vein Relief in TX?
January 03, 2021
Consult a vein clinic to discuss your vein relief options.
Spider veins and varicose veins can cause severe discomfort, even if not outright pain. They might also be accompanied by other symptoms, such as leg heaviness, restless legs, frequent leg cramps, etc. You can relieve these symptoms temporarily through some lifestyle changes — wear compression stockings, walk frequently, don’t sit still for too long, and start exercising. But these are temporary solutions that provide mild relief — they don’t address the root cause of your spider veins or provide lasting relief.
Lasting and total vein relief can only come from professional vein treatments for your spider veins and varicose veins. If you want to achieve complete vein relief in TX, you must consult a vein care center in your area.
Vein Treatment Clinic is an excellent example of a reputable and state-of-the-art clinic for vein care in Houston, TX. We only provide the most effective minimally invasive varicose vein treatments after carefully diagnosing the root cause of your vein problems. Vein Treatment Clinic is highly accessible, located at 2024 Richmond Ave #300, Houston, a short drive from the popular Galleria shopping mall. You may schedule an appointment online or call us at +1 346-258-7302.
Please continue reading for a step-by-step overview of our Houston medical center’s vein relief methodology.
Step 1: Initial Consultation
The first step of the vein care process is a frank and open consultation with the vein doctor. During the initial consultation, your vein doctor will examine your leg veins, spider veins, and varicose veins. They’ll ask you to describe the symptoms and your overall experience, and whether you experience leg heaviness, restless leg syndrome, throbbing leg veins, frequent leg cramps, or general exhaustion, especially at the end of the day.
These are all the early signs and symptoms of an underlying circulatory disorder known as chronic venous insufficiency. Healthy leg veins consist of valves that ensure smooth one-way blood circulation to the heart, preventing gravity from pushing blood backward. Venous insufficiency is a medical condition wherein the collapse of your vein valves leads to backward blood circulation, with the blood eventually accumulating in your leg veins.
The only way to provide long-term vein relief is to address the root cause of your vein problems. Medical spas and inexperienced physicians often treat spider veins and the accompanying symptoms without diagnosing the underlying vein disease. That approach might provide temporary results, but there’s a far higher risk of recurrence down the line. However, VTC Houston takes a holistic approach to varicose vein treatment — we address the root cause of your discomfort.
After examining your leg veins and discussing your symptoms, the vein doctor administers a test called Duplex Ultrasound to visualize the blood flow in your leg veins. This vascular imaging test reveals the diseased saphenous vein responsible for your problems.
Step 2: Vein Treatment Plan
The vein doctor curates a personalized vein treatment plan based on your diagnosis, insurance coverage options, lifestyle, medical history, and cosmetic goals. Instead of following a cookie-cutter template, we understand and address your unique concerns, ensuring optimal results without inconveniencing you. The vein doctor actively discusses your insurance coverage options for various varicose vein treatments, giving you all the information you need to make an informed decision.
Step 3: Venous Insufficiency Treatment
If you have underlying venous insufficiency, as determined through vascular imaging, your vein care approach must start with a minimally invasive varicose vein treatment. The vein doctor will recommend one of the following procedures — radiofrequency ablation, endovenous laser ablation, and VenaSeal.
All minimally invasive varicose vein treatments have the same underlying goal — collapse or neutralize the diseased saphenous vein. But they achieve this goal through different methods. Endovenous radiofrequency ablation and laser ablation deliver thermal or laser energy into the diseased vein via a catheter inserted through a small incision on the skin’s surface. VenaSeal is a medical glue injected into the diseased vein to fuse its walls, making it seal and collapse.
The end result is always the same — the accumulated blood reroutes to healthier veins to restore smooth blood circulation to the heart, and the diseased vein is eventually metabolized by the body. The procedures work immediately, necessitating nothing more complex than local anesthesia to ensure comfort and a small incision on the skin’s surface. In most cases, the treatment concludes within 15 minutes, with no downtime or post-procedural pain.

Step 4: Cosmetic Treatment
The varicose vein treatments mentioned above don’t automatically remove the visible spider veins and varicose veins on your skin’s surface. And that’s where the cosmetic treatments come in — ambulatory phlebectomy and sclerotherapy.
Ambulatory phlebectomy removes the superficial varicose veins through small incisions made on the skin’s surface. Sclerotherapy is the injection of a special medication into the spider veins to fuse their walls, making them shrink and eventually collapse. With sclerotherapy, the spider veins will gradually turn into scar tissues and fade away from your skin’s surface over several weeks as your body metabolizes the collapsed tissues.
Step 5: Vein Relief & Recovery
Minimally invasive procedures conclude in 30 to 60 minutes. As such, you achieve instantaneous vein relief and can resume your daily activities with no downtime or severe post-procedural discomfort.
However, you’ll be asked to follow a few simple post-treatment recovery guidelines to ensure smooth blood circulation:
- Wear compression stockings for a few weeks.
- Don’t engage in heavy or strenuous workouts for a few days.
- Walk for at least an hour a day.
- Don’t sit still for long periods — take walking breaks every 15 to 30 minutes.
- Keep your legs elevated while sitting.
